We watched the Golden Girls throughout its run on TV from the 1985 Fall Season through Spring 1992. At the time, "older" women hadn't been presented on TV with issues such as sex, divorce, aging, health, and other aspects of their "golden years". The characters Blanche, Dorothy, Rose and Sophia came across as genuine, frank, and hilarious!
